Freight shipments

Gate operators and other heavy equipment (over 70 lbs.) can only be shipped via common carrier. These orders will not show the shipping costs during the checkout process. Common carrier shipping rates vary considerably due to fuel price changes and other variables. The best rates possible will be added to your order prior to delivery. For a current shipping rate, please contact the TSW sales team at 877-816-7304 or eric@totalsecuritywarehouse.com.

Damaged or missing shipments

All shipments are F.O.B. (Free on Board) from our shipping warehouse in Brown Deer, WI, or from the vendor via a carrier of our choice. This means that the Buyer assumes title and control of the shipment the moment the carrier signs the Bill of Lading. Buyer is responsible for all transportation costs including, but not limited to, shipping charges, premiums for freight insurance, inspection fees, customs, duties, import or export fees, assessments, and all other costs incurred in transporting the products to the shipping destination.

Regardless of how transportation costs are paid or billed, title and risk of loss passes to the Buyer upon delivery of the products to the carrier at TSW or the vendor’s warehouse. Our responsibility ceases when we have delivered the shipment to the transportation company on a clean bill of lading. We obtain signed manifest from the carrier, and it is the Buyer’s responsibility to submit all claims for shortages, loss or damaged goods to the transportation company.

Check your shipment carefully. Upon receipt of your order, check your shipment for any signs of shortages, loss or damage. If you suspect any shortages, loss, or damage, this must be noted on the carrier’s Bill of Lading. Once you sign the Bill of Lading without any notation of shortages, loss, or damage, you release the carrier and TSW of any liability and responsibility for any shortages, loss or damage. Claims for errors or shortages must be made immediately upon receipt of order. Claims for shortages, loss or damage cannot be deducted from our invoice.

Drop Shipments

In the event that TSW does not have physical inventory of the item the Buyer ordered, it must be ordered from our vendor. Some of our vendors charge a drop ship fee to ship those items directly to the Buyer. The Buyer will provided with the opportunity to have these items drop shipped directly to the Buyer for a fee of 25% of the invoice (less taxes and freight), or the Buyer may choose to wait to have the items shipped to TSW and then shipped to Buyer.

Drop ship fees apply only to new orders for finished goods and non-warranty parts and will be applied regardless of the method of shipping (common carrier, UPS, FedEx, Postal, etc.). No drop shipments will be made to destinations outside of the United States (50 states). Drop ship fees are not applied to the following:

• Warranty or RMA items

• Access cards and transmitters

3rd Party Shipments

All third-party shipments are FOB, freight collect (this means that the buyer is responsible for all freight charges). TSW will not file any claims for shortages, loss, or damage on behalf of the Buyer for Buyers who use their own transportation services, or who contract with a third-party transportation service for shipment of goods. Any additional fees imposed by the transportation company are the responsibility of the Buyer. Furthermore, TSW will not replace any product because of shortages, loss or damage, and will not prepay any shipping charges for any shipment by a third-party carrier.

Fees

Handling: $10.00 handling fee per order is charged on all FedEx, UPS, U.S. Postal Service, and LTL shipments.

Correction: Any FedEx or UPS shipment that is shipped per Buyer’s instructions, and the ship to address is incorrect in any way, Buyer is responsible for, and agrees to reimburse TSW for, any correction fees that are assessed to TSW by the shipping company.

LTL Handling: There are additional fees that may be applicable and are beyond our control. These fees include residential deliveries, waiting time, lift gates, etc. We are not advised of these fees until after the delivery is made. Fees of this nature will be charged back to the consignee.

LTL Pickup: An LTL pick up fee may be charged by the carrier to TSW when TSW schedules a pick up at the customer’s location. This fee is added to the freight charges that apply.
