LiftMaster has recently been notified of a potential issue with the Cobra In-Ground Spike product and possible unintended damage to automobile tires on vehicles traveling in the approved direction. The product models being reviewed by their team are Cobra In-Ground Secure Mount and Easy Mount Manual Traffic Systems produced since February 2017.

Out of an abundance of caution and to minimize any tire damage while LiftMaster undertakes their analysis, they will be implementing a Product Adjustment Program with respect to the affected product models as described below.

1) Immediately disable the traffic spike system using the system’s built-in latch down device to secure the traffic teeth in the down position.

2) Call LiftMaster’s dedicated Traffic Spike System Helpline phone number at 888-528-6305, Monday – Friday, 8am-4pm, MST. Be prepared to provide the quantity and model(s) of the current traffic spike system you have installed.

Replacement parts will be shipping in about 4 weeks to customers who have been affected. For those sites that require a immediate resolution, and cannot disable their traffic spike system out of concern for security, a small amount of “field-kits” will be made available to modify existing systems immediately.
